I’ve really been struggling lately.
I’m struggling with not hitting my weight goals, struggling with my business goals, and even struggling with my more personal and financial goals.
I think that turning 48 this year, being 2 years away from the BIG 5 0, and not being where I want to be (physically, financially and in business) are really hitting me harder than I realized.
On my birthday, I set up my intentions for this year of things that I wanted to achieve and accomplish. At this point, I do not feel any closer to living with those intentions than when I created that list.
I feel like I am really stuck and just spinning my wheels, trying to gain momentum and move forward with really no noticeable results. The results that I am seeing are more in a backwards motion, than in a forward direction.
I’m not happy with that.
What I notice in my own life, is that when I feel like I am not making forward strides, I don’t feel a sense of accomplishment, and when I don’t feel like I have accomplished anything, I am not a happy girl. 🙁
When I allow myself to get in that negative state of mind, it seems to snowball, and I continue to find more things wrong. Only because I search them out, not because there are actually more problems!
The fact is that it isn’t even about what happens but how I React to what happens that is my biggest problem.
Last weekend, I was able to deal with my emotions, look at the bigger picture and stop myself from going into an all out emotional eating frenzy.
This weekend, I said “Screw it, What’s the Point”, and I have been eating everything in sight.
- I knew that wasn’t what I wanted or needed to do,
- I knew that it was going to kick me OUT of ketosis, and make me feel like crap.
- I knew that it would only hurt my state of mind.
- I knew it wasn’t going to solve any of my problems.
Yet I did it anyway! 🙁
Today, I am angry with myself that I allowed my emotions to get the best of me. I allowed myself to follow that inner sabotaging voice that said – “It’s okay, you deserve a break. Everyone deserves a break now and then.”.
Today is the second day of the 2nd quarter of 2018.
I am even MORE discouraged than I was at the beginning of the year.
So WHAT the HECK am I going to do about it?
This is NOT my normal frame of mind, it is not like me to be this down and out for such a long time. And that is making me even more frustrated and down in the dumps.
Then this morning, I had an email from a friend of mine sharing something that got me really pumped up!

For me, it’s a problem of timing, execution and being consistent. It’s a problem of keeping my focus and not getting sidetracked.
