Amazon Sales: What happened to all my Sales?!

I hear this question several times a day lately.  What happened to all my Sales?!  I was doing so good, and all of a sudden I’m down to less than half of what I was at.  It’s like they froze my account!!

It’s the same thing for me.  My Amazon sales are down about half right now.  My eBay sales have also tanked.  It’s like they just turned off the switch and poof …. nothing!  It’s super frustrating, and very worrisome especially when you have never experienced it before!

• What did I do wrong?
• How can I fix it?
• What do I do now?
• Is this happening to anyone else?
• I was counting on the income!

Relax!  This is a totally normal thing.  It happens every year!  The dive that you are seeing in your Amazon sales, and your eBay sales is historical.  I call it the summer slowdown.  That said, every year it makes me start to panic!  And I know it’s going to happen.

The first year it happened.  I has working the affiliate side of eBay and Amazon.  My sales just were almost non-existent.  I completely freaked out.  The circle of people that I was working with at the time had told me it would happen.  I guess I didn’t believe that it would be such a drastic change!

But every year right around this time, things really slow down for a couple months, and every year (myself included) people go into panic mode.  It’s funny because most people think that slow down the slowdown where people stop buying will be right after Christmas but that is not the case at all.  January and February are historically some awesome sales months.

As frustrating as the summer slowdown can be, it kind of makes sense.  School is out families are on vacation, moms don’t want to start buying a lot of stuff until closer to school starting.  Kids are usually having huge growth spurts in the summer.

But what do we do in the meantime?

Well my best advice is this.  Instead of going into panic mode and posting the What happened to all my Sales?! question all over every Facebook group…  take this time to prepare.

There are some really big “seasons” coming up.  Take this time now, when things are slow, to prepare for them so you can kick butt.

• Back to School
• Fall
• Halloween
• Thanksgiving

Just keeping pushing forward tweak your listings, find new items, get rid of the dead weight (stuff that isn’t selling).  Spend extra time in training and learning new things.  Work on other areas of your business that have been lacking.

Plus – take time to get outside and play and have fun!  After all it is summer time and the weather is fine!  At home entrepreneurs need to get out from behind the computer and enjoy it too.  (Unless you’re like me and tend to hide from the sun because it gives me huge rashes)

Before you know it the summer will be gone, and we will be gearing up for the busiest shopping season EVER!!  Amazon sales in 2014 reached an all time high of almost 89 BILLION  and is expected to top 107 BILLION in 2015.

Sales are NOT DEAD – they are just on vacation, lol!  Even though it is summertime, we are kind of in “winter” as Tony Robbins would say for sales. After winter comes spring and things will start growing and happening again.
