Are You Offensive or Defensive?
Are you an offensive or defensive person?
That may seem like a weird question. It does to me, but when I truly think of it I am much more of a defensive than an offensive player.
As part of the 100 Day challenge, one of the days lessons was explaining that there are really only two kinds of strategies in life.
Either you are:
Offensive. – You play to WIN, and advance in life
or
Defensive. – You play to NOT LOSE, and not lose ground in life
I would like to think I employ an offensive strategy, and in my head I aim to do just that….
But in reality, I am mostly a defensive player in this game of life. I so often start with big goals, aspirations and plans. Then I “let life get in the way”, and seem to be fighting fires of things that are thrown into my path that need to be taken care of.
Or, I get tired and take the easy way out.
A great example of this would be with my healthy weight loss and eating plan over the last 4 or 5 months. I have big plans to stay on track, then I get home late, or I’m tired and I end up just eating what the kids have saying in my head tomorrow will be better, tomorrow I will be back on point.
The thing is I KNOW what to do, and how to do it to achieve the results I want to see. Heck, I lost my first 100 pounds in only 8 months. And went on to lose 155 pounds.
I knew what I had to do, and I was driven and on fire to do it.
One of my goals over the next 100 days is to lose 30 pounds – that is NOT going to happen unless I play an OFFENSIVE strategy. I am playing to win!!
It was pointed out to me this morning that today, April 10th is 100 days into 2018.
So where am I at with my goals?
Where are you at with your goals? With your healthy eating goals? With your business goals? With your savings or paying off credit card goals?
Are you where you want to be?
I’m NOT!
Today it really is time to get in the game and make it happen.
It’s time to be an OFFENSIVE Threat to the list of goals that need to be crushed.
It is time to stop taking the easy way out, or to say “tomorrow is another day”. It is time to be a goal crusher.
The 200th Day
The 200th Day of 2018 will be on Thursday July 19, 2018
If you could accomplish 3 of your top goals in the next 100 days, what would they be?
If you need some help to make that happen, you should join the 100 day challenge with me.
Let’s face it, if you are no where closer to those goals now than you were (or I was) on New Years Eve – it’s time to change the game.
It’s time to play to win (Offensive) and stop settling with our goals, playing only to “not lose” (Defensive).
Really, the playing to not lose strategy is kind of a sh*tty way to live, isn’t it?
Read the Comeback Manifesto today. This free report got me really fired up to not waste the next 100 days of 2018.
In fact, I am so ready for change that I went and joined the challenge. This may or may not be an option for you, but if you really need some help to get it done, you can still get in on the challenge now (until April 12)
