On September 14, I talked about Setting Goals and Making a Plan. This blog is not yet even a month old (my first post was on the 13th) after I had been away from blogging for two years.
At that time I created a plan of what I wanted to accomplish in the days that remained in September. So here are the results:
Goal Setting (How can I gauge my progress? )
- Increase my visitor count by 100%. This morning my unique visitor count is at 33. For the entire month, I had a total of 423 Unique Visitors to AHWH – that is more than 100%, though it will be nice when I can count that many in a day
- Increase my incoming links by at least 50. So far I don’t have any.
September Results show 116 links using dnscoop tool.
- Have a minimum of at least 4 new posts/week. Better get writing. From September 13 – 27, I wrote 10 posts, that would work out to just right around achieving my target.
- Get a minimum of 200 new Twitter followers. Today I have 59. Had a bit more trouble with Twitter. At then end of September, I only had approx. 120 followers (Come On you guys follow me – please?? @wahmbuddy)
- Have a net profit — even if it’s only a buck. That is less hosting expenses and any other costs I incur this month. Hmmmm well honestly? I’ll have to put a big fat ZERO on this one. I’m not shocked, and I do have a lot of great info and sites that were important for me to get.
So what about October? What kind of wonderful things do I want to achieve this month (besides making more than I spend, lol)…
I have been working on some other Niche sites as well. These are more to promote affiliate products, and so that I can get money from adsense and other advertising.
I will share things with you on At Home with Heather, but I don’t ever want this blog to turn into one big flashing advertisement for work at home stuff. This is a learning, and teaching blog… I can save that stuff for my other sites.
I’ve been spending more time being out in the community. Getting to know my fellow bloggers, and finding really cool stuff. I think this is sooooo important for every blogger to do. So, I will continue with that by making atleast 5 comments on other blogs.
I also want to become more involved on Twitter. Let’s see if I can jump my numbers by that 200 starting from today, I’m at 133 (wow that went up overnight).
I want to continue learning about the great things coming from Google. Including Google Friend Connect, Gwave, and even though Google Analytics isn’t new – I want to use that on AHWH this month. I am LOVING my Google stuff!

Branding. This is important for any website, and I will continue to work on that in October.
And of course most importantly keep providing you with quality content, helping those just starting out online And trying to make sense of all this information. As together, we learn to earn money at Home.

I have found that setting goals and keeping the forward momentum going to be key to success. Yes, there are some goals I have not yet met but the arrow is pointing in the right direction none the less.
Keeping in mind that this should be a fun endeavor is important as well.

As for goal setting, I try to compete with myself to make every month better than the last. It does help to keep the forward momentum going.

I think setting goals and setting plans on what you’ll want to achieve is very importent. Of course you shoudn’t set goals that are not reachable, but setting goals and achieving them will really give you a kick. Even if you need to start from baby steps it’s a start and better then nothing.
As you already know my blog is also 1 month old and have also starting setting goals. Great way to sta inspired and focused.
About Twitter I have around 500 Followers now, but ain’t seeing much positve results. Are you seeing any results yet from Twitter?

I am seeing a few visitors from Twitter. But right now I am spending alot of time there. It will be interesting to see how much traffic it brings me by the end of October.
I am also seeing more from my mybloglog account. One of the things I really want to get done this week is installing Google Analytics, that way I know for sure.
